Public Storage Self-Storage Units at 1910 Hughes Way, El Segundo, CA

Go anywhere but here. A leaking pipe caused water damage to 75% of my stuff including mold and bugs!!!!!!!! and they couldn’t care less. They open 3 hours after open time. I will be following this until the very highest point of the company and everyone is going to have to be held accountable. It’s unacceptable. They expect respect yet don’t respect your time, money or items. I’m easy to please when my stuff isn’t destroyed. It’s hard to be this bad. Avoid at all costs.

Black mold in the unit and they don’t care! Horrible customer service. Found mold In the unit and they literally told they don’t care and feel free to call the Health Dept. They stated that mold is part of the risks you take when you rent the unit… run the other way!

It's absolutely unacceptable that there is no gate access after 6 pm! And then I follow the prompt on the gate access control to call and I'm told there's no exceptions? I've never had an issue with gate access at any other location I've used in the country but here.

I came in today looking for different prices for units.A young man name Pedro gave me a tour of the property. He showed me the safety features of the location and the benefits of their app. Pedro and Maria are a great team, they were both very helpful and professional.

They close the access gate at 6pm. That’s way too early! I’m sick of trying and failing to make it there after work 🙄

I was going to give it a ONE star but I added the extra star because you can use your cell phone to open the gate. OK so here's my situation I emptied out my unit middle of September so that I won't be Billed for the month of October. October comes and I get billed $84.17 on Oct 4th. I made four calls to the office I was told to allow 3-5 business days. It's already 10/14. Office Personnel is not worried about it. But if it happened to them they too would be calling for their money. I'm not going to stop calling until I see my money on my account.. My next call is to the Corporate Offices.

Gave Pedro and Raeven a 5 star review, earlier in the week, which they deserved as their customer service was excellent. The female service rep on Saturday was excellent also. However on Sunday May 29th the customer service rep who identified herself as the property manager was a poor customer service rep, rude when she could have been helpful, arrogant when she could have been friendly, she went to great lengths to be obnoxious. Having used this storage facility most of the week, I noticed that 1 of 5 dolly cart had bad wheels and would not steer straight under load. So today I requested any cart but that cart which was unlocked by a key labeled 2 with a white background. To my surprise instead of giving me another cart she deliberately gave me the cart labeled 2 and insisted in a rude manner that I had to take any cart that I was handed. Why ???? Why should I take a cart with bad wheels, which is exactly what she gave me. Why could she not be kind and courteous and give me one of the carts that I had asked for? When I stated that I was going to complain to management she stated that I could not come back onto the property that day. Why? Because I called her on a poor service! That’s an unfair retributive act, and itself poor customer service in addition I was not given the key to lock the dolly’s both times I used them, and the hasp would not lock without the key. I told her of this fact and she accused me of not locking the locks. But the reality is the locks needed the key to unlock and the locks needed to be lubricated as they are out in the open air all day, every day. Also wireless passcode scanner app stinks never works! You have to get out of the car and manually add the code to open the gate!

This is a horrible company. You should avoid them if you can. They constantly try and raise the rent every month and say it’s in your contract we can raise it at any time, they went from charging $600 a month to charging me $800 a month. Customer service is horrible, whatever you do , find somewhere else to store your stuff.

I had an opportunity to meet Lance and Raven this morning when I went to pay my Public Storage bill at the El Segundo location Upon entering the business I was immediately greeted by both employees and asked how my day was going. I paid my bill and asked about some boxes that I realized I needed. Without asking, Lance overheard my request and walked around the counter and pulled the boxes out from behind some other items. Not only did Lance put the boxes together for me, he walked out to my car and assisted in putting them in. Both Lance and Raven were courteous, helpful and kind. They are true professionals who represented your brand admirably.

I can't say enough great things about this location! Rebecca was lovely and so helpful when I first went to get a unit, and just now Lance went above and beyond when I was looking for another space on the same property. The location is clean and you can defiantly see that the Managers take pride.

The staff working here were professional and expedient in helping me secure new storage. Lance was especially helpful in navigating me through the process since it was my first time purchasing. Super friendly and was lent a cart to move my belongings. I highly recommend.

Wish I could give 0 stars. This place has the WORST customer service. Every time you want to complain to a manager the sales associates are all of a sudden the “managers” and do what they want. We were told when we signed up for our unit that the lock would be refunded because “there must be a lock on the unit” even though it was empty. We agreed to use their lock. Well, because their hours close when people get off work we could never make it. Eventually said enough was enough after 2 MONTHS. When we tried to call what was supposed to be the corporate customer service line, we found out that was a lie and it actually went to the real owners cell phone. Do yourself a favor and just avoid this place it’s a complete scam.

Rebecca was wonderful!! I really appreciated her follow up to my reservation. She let me know I should finish the rental agreement ASAP since she only had one space left of the size I wanted. Mye, Janine and Josalyn were very helpful in getting a storage unit for me. I had been on a wait list for a larger unit and the ladies, Jasmine and Josalyn, informed me as to my place in line and gave me an anticipation date. On Thursday I was informed that a unit would be available Friday. I stopped by on my way home Thursday night but couldn’t secure the unit as the previous tenant still had it until close of business. I got there Friday and Mye was able to handle the transaction. All is good Well I’m back after a year and a half and met Rebeca at the sales office. She showed me the available spaces and suggested to take the larger unit. She was very gracious setting up my account and most helpful with setting all of this to the Ap on my phone - most helpful! I hope Public Storage appreciates Rebeca’s work ethic.

Rebecca and the whole team made this yucky experience, not so yucky. Putting all our belongings into a storage facility was not an easy choice. We became homeless during this COVID-19 pandemic and our loved ones guided us to this public storage (thankfully). Today, we take our items out of storage and I'm thankful to the Public Storage team for always being kind, and taking care of our family possessions.

This storage feels very safe and clean, I trust leaving my boat here with no problems. Prices are reasonable for the area and staff is friendly. However, they did cancel my account after being out of town for just 3 days. Overall a good storage though.

This is the cleanest facility I’ve ever been to! Rebecca is so helpful, speedy, and patient. Nothing is ever fun about paying to store stuff that probably won’t be used for years, or that comes out of storage once for a season. There was a good deal on a 10 x 10 running at the time I got my first unit and she helped to keep the costs down when I needed to get into a smaller unit. Customer service at this location is great no matter who you deal with- I really appreciate that!

Rebecca at Public Storage has been amazing. She is detail oriented and notice my lock was not properly attached to the storage door and promptly fixed it and alerted me to this fact. And she also got the light in the storage to work after being out for over a month. A++++++ Thank you!

Rebecca, who I believe is a property manager in this location, has been the absolute pleasure to work with. We had a big stressful office move that required multiple units to store, and though there were some complications on our end with estimating how much space we actually needed, Rebecca was patient and gave out great energy throughout the whole process. She always took the time to explain processes to me, made great recommendations, and was always quick to call back. Even when there were small system issues that were out of her control, she was empathetic and went out of her way to help us and keep us updated. I can see how hard she works to maintain everything at this location, she deserves to be valued and recognized for her work. 10/10 would recommend this location because of Rebecca.

Great place and good prices for the amount of space. Super easy to get to, get in and out, and lots of room to move your stuff in and out.

Rebecca and Alondra are super helpful, always responsive and provide great information. I had movers at my house and we realized at the end of the day the unit I booked was too small. It was 5:55 p.m. when I called Alondra asking if I could get a larger unit. Even though the office closes at 6:00, Alondra agreed to stay late and wait for me to head to the office. She was a lifesaver!

Moving can be so stressful— especially when you have to split up your belongings with a storage unit. Luckily I had a great experience with this storage site. My experience at Public Storage was great. When I first met Mye, she was knowledgeable and helpful. I was nervous about about leaving my car, she was reassuring. She was able to and all my questions, was polite and patience. Great experience at this Public Storage location. The on-site Manager when I arrived, Mye, was really helpful, friendly, efficient and informative. All around it was a very pleasant experience. This site is a great location, and the code controlled gate and built entry, as well as upgraded lock cores, make it seem quite secure. The property also looks clean and well-maintained.

I love this storage facility! This is the fourth time I've used them and like the first three times, the facility keeps improving and the staff are top notch. I am appreciative of the additional security measures added by the new code locks on the storage buildings since the last time I used the facility. I reserved my locker on 3/17/19 and Mye, Josalyn, and Jasmine helped me. Mye was the primary person working with me. She was professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. Josalyn and Jasmine also helped make the experience fun and soon the four of us were laughing and enjoying a very early Sunday morning.My moving truck arrived this morning, 3/30/19, and Josalyn welcomed us with yet another smile on her face. Nobody enjoys moving, so I can't say how much it means to have a warm, friendly staff welcome you and help you through every step of the process. Mye, Josalyn, Jasmine... THANK YOU!

This is my second time using this storage lot to park my work truck. It feels safe and is always clean! I received excellent service from Jasmine getting all the paperwork set up. She was professional and personable. Their 9pm closing time is very convenient for me and a deciding factor on my return to this Public Storage location.

SO EASY. From the moment I walked in the door, service with a smile!

Jasmine and Jocelyn were the most helpful and knowledgeable staff I have ever been so fortunate to work with. They deserve promotions and raises for being so awesome.

Had all my stuff stolen. They do not have any cameras but in the front of the complex-- considering what a large complex that is insane and incredibly. They caught nothing on the security cameras, which means the thieves hopped over from the back way and figured out a way to get everything over. When the police arrived the officer told me that he had been called out to this location over two dozen times. Never thought this would be a problem because of the area it was in and the facility itself, but I also thought that the company itself would be smart enough to install more than two cameras in the front entrance. After everything, I called to ask for a refund for the monthly storage bill at least for that month because my stuff had been stolen-- they declined. I then got a postcard the next month saying they were raising the price of the storage unit to $50 more a month.

Jasmine, and Josalyn are not only two beautiful young women, but very professional. They offered me a chair for me to sit in while waiting on another Customer, (who does that? ) Thank you for amazing service and water , and look forward to seeing you soon -Uncle Jesse

My experience at Public Storage has been phenomenal. I needed a storage unit and was glad to find one near me. The building was clean and open, the check-in process was very smooth. Samantha kindly helped me choose the unit I needed, she made it very easy for me to get all my items into the storage. This was a last minute need, and I am thankful that Public Storage and their stuff made my experience so easy in the midsts of a stressful time. Thank you!!

This place is horrible. They have thefts there almost every week the police department told me. It takes them months to get anything fixed and most of the time it never gets fixed! My advice is to keep looking unless you want your valuables lifted overnight.

Samantha answered all my questions and was a great help! I highly recommend this location for your storage and moving supply needs. Great service is hard to come by so my experience here really stands out. Samantha went the extra mile to make sure I was taken care of.

Sam and Arlene at this location were incredible to deal with. We had to go back four times for more boxes, especially the wine storage boxes...cleaned them out of those. After the move, went back to return unused packing boxes, without the receipt, as the movers packed EVERYTHING, including the receipts for boxes that were on the side not to be included in the packing. Long story short, Sam and Arlene searched through their records to locate my receipt for a proper refund. Thank you for making this move less stressful.
