Wish I had paid more attention before renting. This location has VERY limited hours for access. Pretty much inaccessible if you have a day job. The people working there are super friendly. The app for opening the gate never works. Update - they fixed the app/gate issue!

This location has been super easy to deal with, especially thanks to Dalila in the office who is sweet as pie, not to mention very helpful. The buildings and property are well maintained as well. I lost my key and am locked out of my unit. I am on disability and simply want to remove my things, but the property manager is telling me my only option is to call a locksmith for hundreds of dollars more than I can afford, or wait a few days for their one person who is able to help with no option of prorate or anything. This is incredibly heartless, and the complete lack of any malleability is truly frustrating. I have been a reliable tenant for the entire time and simply want to remove my personal belongings on the first.

I’ve had a space here for a long time and I’ve never had a problem. The facilities are dry and they always let me know when they’re changing the gate codes. Very good customer service.

This public storage is the best. it is so clean that you could nearly eat off the floors , as well the elevators are nice and strong, for heavy loads! The windows are clear and the building is large and feels safe . I love this public storage facility, as compared to others in the city that I have visited over the last few months. My rent suddenly increased by $151 this month. After leaving a review, I was contacted by a Public Storage employee. They asked me if I had submitted a “rent increase cancellation request”… I have course didn’t know that was an option. They said that they would submit one for me and follow up… A couple weeks later and I haven’t heard anything back. The employees at this location have always been great, but that much of a sudden increase seems wrong.

Used this for storage for about 6 months. The employees were all nice but the security is very low. You don’t need a code to enter the building once you’re through the gate and can walk right in. My storage unit was broken into and many items were stolen. I DO NOT recommend using this location. Look for another spot that has better security besides a parking gate.

In the late 1980s, I moved and had to rent a storage unit for what wouldn't fit into my new home. I used a Public Storage unit in El Segundo and they were great. Very secure. Had to provide photo ID in order to rent the unit. Now someone has used my name and mailing address to rent a unit at this place, apparently without having to provide any proof of their identity. They sent the overdue bill to collections. I called their office and they verified on the phone that I wasn't the one who rented the unit. I am still getting collection calls. I called their corporate office and they still haven't returned my calls. Don't go anywhere near this place.

Is it true that this building is the original Keystone Studios building, where Charlie Chaplin did his first movies and created the Tramp character?

I made a reservation online as I was driving from across country and intended to complete the rental upon my arrival to Los Angeles. I was contacted numerous times by the Public Storage staff who encouraged me to complete the reservation online. I was told that they could not guarantee that the unit would be available upon my arrival. So I completed the rental online per their recommendation. I arrived just minutes after the facility closed and I wasn't able to view the unit until the next day. When I saw the unit, I was horrified. There was a car bumper hanging from the ceiling, graffiti on the walls, holes in the wall, and trash in the unit. I expressed my concern to the on-site employee and I told her that I didn't feel comfortable moving my belongings into the unit. I requested a refund and she said that she was unable to give me a refund because I had already moved in (I never moved my items into the unit and I had not put a lock on the unit). She said that her manager would put in a request for a refund and follow up. After waiting for almost a month with no follow-up from the location, I called for a status update on my refund and I was told to contact the corporate office. This was an extreme inconvenience for me after driving nearly 3,000 miles, I had to scramble to find another storage facility with no assistance and I still haven't received a refund or follow-up. I would not recommend this Public Storage location to anyone.

Complete scam. I never write scathing reviews, but I am truly appalled by this place. By their own admission, they gave us a faulty lock but still said they could not cut the lock themselves, that we'd either have to pay $170 for a certified locksmith (they wouldn't allow our movers to cut it bc of liability issue) OR wait until a manager returned some day this week to cut the lock. We hired the movers back for the following week after being assured the lock would be cut by then. It wasn't. We lost THOUSANDS of dollars on movers, and still do not have access to our storage unit.

The parent company is well-organized and professional. They make it easy to pay. Angelica, Dalila, and the rest of the staff at 1712 Glendale Blvd are well-informed, pleasant, and helpful. The buildings and grounds are well-maintained. The facility even includes an historic, early Hollywood studio. People rent a storage space out of necessity, but this one is a pleasure to visit.

Angelica is very knowledgeable on what she does. She assisted us to install the string for our light in our unit. She is very pleasant and respectful to us. Keep it up Angelica🙏

I wanted to say thank you to James, he is the district manager for Los Angeles and Glendale areas, I had difficulty paying for my moms storage she recently became disabled and I became unemployed, I had restless nights thinking that we were going to loose all of moms things plus going into collection. James took care of us, I called him this past Monday he returned my call immediately, send me a link to his corp offices and today I got word that mom and I are going to be fine. no need to loose sleep he said, I got his help on an extension plus no late fee's and no lien sales. What a lovely experience! Angelica and Dalia (this may not be here name but I know her name starts with a Da; she has a lovely orange mask) were so helpful and supportive during my storage time with them. Very accommodating and the building my unit was in (A) was wonderful and modern and clean. I will note that when we came to look at units, the first building we looked at, which is closer to the office, was terrifying and felt unsafe. And, in that building, the unit we had originally reserved had a pole in the middle of it! However, for the exact same price, a unit was in the A building and all was well. I would never rent any storage unit unseen anywhere, so that's nothing personal to this location. I would, however, rent from this Public Storage again if I needed to!

I helped my mom get a public storage unit at the silverlake/echopark area. She's dealt with them for over a year now, and honestly they are awesome. Dalila and Alex are such awesome women! this past week they help accommodate my mother with her container unit, which was delivered to their property. Unfortunately, as we packed the container we stay a little over time, however, Dalila and Alex were really kind and stayed past their work hours for a few minutes to accommodate us. their property is pretty clean, and well kept together. We've never had any theft problems. Also, they are really generous with loaning out their dollies. Overall, this is a safe place to store your belongings, and the staff are really nice people.

I have used other Public Storage Services at other locations before, and had horrible experiences. I think this location may have in the last year got a new Manager, Dalia. She and her staff, have been extremely personal, beyond flexibile, and compassionate to me, to the extent I feel like they are my family. I’m sad about the reviews here, because I have had very nasty experiences at other Public Storage facilities. I’m sure these experiences may be valid with prior management, but rarely do I write a review for any experiences and was compelled to do so now. However, in this case, reconsider this location. I don’t doubt how others have felt on their reviews, but I’ve stowed my things there 2ce over the course of 2 years due to a divorce. I can only write here 5 star service and I’ve worked at the Ritz Carlton and Nordstrm which are renown for Customer Service. With exceptional care and thoughtful personal relationships, thank you Dalia and team. Thank you for helping me through a challenging period of my life and going the extra mile to make me feel so cared about that I had to write this review on your behalf.

I feel very grateful that I decided to store my belongings at this particular facility. The ladies in charge Angelica, Shantal, & Delila are extraordinary. They take the time to show you and assist you with everything you need. My tiny toddler was very stressed out due to our moving and Delila was so sweet to her by giving her several stuffed animals which made my tiny daughter’s day! These ladies understand how tough moving can be and they go above and beyond to ease this challenging time for their customers. I feel at ease knowing each time I go there, I will be assisted professionally by all of them.

I cannot express my appreciation for the excellent customer service provided by Dalia. Moving has been proven to be one of the most stressful life events a person can have and the storage unit hours of operation are very, very inconvenient for anyone with full a time job, making it incredibly difficult to get to the units before closing, the team who work at public storage also have unnecessary stress and headaches dealing with upset people every night, who just want to use the facilities they're paying for but cannot access do to the restrictive operating time. Dalia, Shantal and Angelica are good people who are unfairly put in to awkward positions every afternoon during closing. Three full-time overlapping shifts would solve this problem, with hours extended to at least 10PM giving people who work till 5 or 5:30 a chance to use their unit Making Public Storages teams life less stressful and easier and the paying customers life less stressful. In closing five stars to Dalia and team. Zero stars for hours of operation.

I'm glad we came to this location. Dalila shantal and angelica have the best customer service. This is a great location and the ladies here are exceptional.

Always the best customer service, dalila Angelica were always happy to help with any situation and always punctual.

This location will extort money from you. Caution. They refused to allow me access to my things even after paying for the month. They will cut your lock off and force you to buy another from you and charge you hidden fees. The first month move in special is great until the second month when they raised my rent over $70 without telling me. I'm currently sitting in the parking lot waiting for a police escort to get into my unit because I drove two hours to get here and have no money to buy a new lock after their extortion.

I recently rented a unit at this public storage and had a very enjoyable experience. Angelica Shantal and Dalila were always extremely pleasant, helpful and responsive to any questions or concerns that I had. The facility is kept very clean and attended. I highly recommend using this facility. I would use it again if I weren't moving out of the state.

Dalila the property manager allowed me to see the different sizes they offered at their location. We were there just to look, but decided to rent the space anyways. She was very thorough and detailed about the process and how easy it was going to be to access my stuff. She showed us exactly what we needed. All in all very pleasant and easy experience. This has to be my favorite public storage ever. The units are great, and Dalila is the best when it comes to answering all my questions and maintaining the property.

Dalila and Angelica were a big help. They made it super easy for me to pick a storage size that worked for my stuff i was overly satisfied with how fast and precise they were with superb level of efficiency that is beyond question a huge Plus! I will most definitely go back there in the future.

I’ve had other public storages before but there’s something different about this public storage. I would like to point out the cleanness of the property everywhere I walk there’s absolutely no trash anywhere your staff is very on top the cleanness here I always see Angelica (staff of public storage) and Dalila (also staff of public storage) always sweeping the floors throwing trash out making the place look as nice and professional look to the place . I remember one day I came to the storage and had to leave I completely forgot to lock my unit . I received a courteous call about my storage unit not being locked. That surprised me cause when I was at others public It would just go ahead and leave it on locked Angelica I had to choose the heart to lock it up for me and put another lock until I was able to come back and lock it with my own and I think that is very helpful and very loving about what she’s done. Dalila is very professional she always asked answers my questions right if she always helps and asked me if I need anything . They are always on time for everything but these two staff members are the ones that make this public storage so different and welcoming not because I’m a costumer but like a family thank you for having them here at this public storage

They’ve modified their hours and aren’t open as early as when I first started renting. Now it’s a fairly inconvenient place because it is only open hours when traffic is at its worst. A shame. The rumor is that they had a rash of break ins & now only open during hours the office is open.

Very helpful and friendly staff. This facility is very conveniently located in Echo Park. I’ve had multiple units here and they are very secure. My only complaint is the access hours. I wish that they ran a little bit later.

Do not store here. 1) They semi-regularly raise the rate of the unit a significant amount, and it’s a month to month contract, so they do at will. 2) It’s not 24hr access. May not seem like a big deal, but given the location and constant traffic in the area, I’ve been rushed out of there every time I’ve gone to access my unit and always have to come back. 3) The area is sketchy. I was just there and discovered that my lock had been cut, and found on the ground. I was greeted with Public Storage padlocks. 👎 To be fair, the employees themselves are friendly and I don’t hold the company’s policies against them personally.

Absolutely atrocious behavior from the staff here they changed my payment day out from under me with out telling me they were going to do so. then decided to try and take my things that I owned after a week before I was scheduled to pay.

NOT SECURE AT ALL! My unit was broken into without tampering or cutting the lock. Theives were able to pry the metal hasp that the bolt goes into and open the door, emptying my unit of over $32,000 worth of equipment. Their doors are in NO way secure, and I could tell that the employees were aware of the problem but showed no concern. When I pointed out hardware on nearby units that may have been damaged as well they gave no intention of contacting those renters. I was in and out of my unit fairly often, so discovered the theft within 9 days, but others may have no idea that their doors could be easily forced or that they may have already been robbed. I overheard the employees talking and what they said gave some indication that this has happened before and possibly at multiple facilities. I cannot fathom how Public Storage could have a break in at their facility and not see fit to contact customers and notify them that they may be at risk. It gives one the impression that it may be a regular occurance at their facilities and even likely be an inside job. This facility is a prime example of negligence. When I asked about surveillance cameras for the police report the employees kept saying "no, only the gate." This, despite multiple visible cameras in the parking lot and pointing toward the buildings' entryways. Those are apparently fake or are broken, the employees would not say definitively. In the office there is a tv and equipment and a sign that says "Monitoring Center." The split screen shows that there clearly are more than two cameras but all but three feeds were garbled messes and the rest of the feeds were blank blue screens. The three operational feeds cover the office, one of the two gates, and a random wall of storage room doors. There was apparently no manager on site, but after filing the police report I was finally handed a phone number for a manager, apparently at another facility. She did not answer, nor has she ever responded to my voicemail. I told the employees that I was not leaving the facility or moving my items until I had spoken to a manager. They then found another number for a district manager who answered my voicemail within 10 minutes. He assured me that they would let me move to another room and cooperate with any police investigation. When I told him that other units near me may have been broken into as well he exhibited some level of concern, but I still didn't get the feeling or indication that they intended to notify other customers. The general impression is one of "we know this goes on but we aren't going to mention it." They allowed me let me move what worthless belongings I had left to another equally-nonsecure room (I would have preferred to remove them from the premise but I was unable to do so in at such short notice). They proudly announced that they were giving me the deal of a larger unit at my previous price. Then they made me resign all the paperwork & contracts. Wait, what?!? When I told them that I had no itention of continuing to store my stuff with them they informed me that I would be charged January's rent unless I move my stuff out the very next morning, which was Sunday, which was New Years Eve. I was shocked. Your customer just had their unit broken into, their belongings stolen, all because your facility has subpar construction & hardware and nonexistant security and zero oversite, and you are going to threaten to charge them if they aren't able to scramble move their gear to another location on a Sunday/holiday??? Wow. Just, wow! DO NOT STORE YOUR STUFF HERE, or at any other Public Storage facility. I have since read of MANY similar cases at this facility specifically, as well as other Public Storage facilities in Los Angeles. RENTER BEWARE!

Had two break ins and lost a lot of valuable stuff and they have cameras that do not work

I have a space here. I pay on time. I lost the key to my lock. Had storage spaces before. You just show your ID. Sign a permission. And they cut the lock. This person tells me I need to hire a locksmith? That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

I got a wonderful help in this storage this is the best for me and I recommend this for everybody all these people that work here are really nice especially Robert and Dalila

We have been renting storage space from this Public Storage for a few years now. I was attracted by the legacy of the property and love storing our extra things some place safe and clean, which this location certainly is both. It is however the amazing and patient staff who have on more than one occasion these last few years been so extra kind and helpful. Dalia, is the boss, I believe and she does and she has cultivated two great additional team members, Angelica and Robert. It certainly is refreshing in this time of so much division, that you can find three people so devoted to helping.

Unfortunately i decided to store my things- like many folks do. Its been 17 years that ive been paying to store some stuff that irreplaceable but for the most part a lot of JUNK! Save your money and don't put stuff in storage, if you do only for a montg or two. It's a total waste of money. I could've paid for a down payment on a house with all the money i spent here in 17 years. This month will hopefully be the last here. I refuse to give away $200- a month!

This place is great! Angelica and Robert were a great help to my Aunt and I.

Everything stolen from our unit - it was easy - it will happen again and theres no way the facility can stop theft. In short - DO NOT USE THIS STORAGE FACILITY. Someone stole everything from our unit and the way they did it proves that they (or anyone really) can do it as often as they want without getting caught. In fact its so easy to steal from this facility that one of two things is true. 1) The ownership is in on it. 2) They know how easy it is to empty a unit and are negligent. Here's how the thief stole all our stuff. - Our unit was the only one hit on that day, so it seems as if it was selected by the thief. We had some cool looking stuff, so it makes sense. - There's no ceiling to the units, instead there's a chicken wire faux ceiling. So you can see inside all the units from above. Its actually pretty easy too, you just need to grab the top of the wall, do a pull up, and look down. I could easily do it with no ladder or assistance. It takes about 5 seconds to look inside any unit. - There are no security cameras inside the building. Theres a gate with a code and security cameras on the outside, but none on the inside. So if you can get in the building, you can do whatever you want without fear of being caught. It probably took a while to empty our unit and they did it without a trace. - When they broke in, they snipped the thin pin attached to the door, not the lock. We had a nice lock and they wouldn't have been able to cut through it. However, the thief cut through the pin which is on every single unit. There is no way to reinforce this pin. So they could have quite literally walked down the aisle and broken into every single uint. It is impossible to properly secure a unit here. TLDR - There is no way to confidently secure your items. If you have anything of any value, don't store them at this facility. Public Storage has to be aware of this issue and they haven't done anything to prevent it, which is at best suspicious and at worst criminal.

I Was assisted by a very nice young lady named Angelica, who made my visit quick and easy. On my way out there were two other employees who were busy helping other customers. The staff here is excellent, and the main driving reason for me being a customer here as long as I need a storage facility.

Do not store here. My paperwork says they are open until 6, and that is also what the website and physical sign at the location state, and what I was told by Angelica. I arrived today at 545 with a U-Haul to store a larger item that would not fit in my car. My friend and I would have been in and out in ten minutes tops. But the gate doesn't open. Ot says the property is closed. I call the office, and Angelica says they close at 545. I remind her politely that the sign, my paperwork and her own words told me the location closes at 6, and I have plenty of time to unload my item. She ignores me and walks away. I try calling again, no answer. I'm sitting in the driveway for 20 minutes while I see multiple people on the property moving stuff into their units, even though it is now 10 minutes past closing hours. Not only was I lied to, but they allowed other people to break their ap called "rule".
