About Woodland Hills

A Los Angeles neighborhood on the northeast side of the city, Woodland Hills is nestled in the San Fernando Valley at the foot of the Santa Monica Mountains. Like other Valley neighborhoods, Woodland Hills has been settled for millennia, but it didn't become part of Los Angeles until the mid-20th century.

Today, Woodland Hills is a well-to-do neighborhood with a mid-size population. One of the lowest-density neighborhoods in Los Angeles, Woodland Hills boasts a booming economy, ample space to spread out and quick access to the heart of Los Angeles.

Woodland Hills is a popular shopping destination in the Los Angeles area, attracting people from all around with Westfield Topanga & The Village. There are close to 300 different shops to explore in the mall and a large children's carousel. Certain shops within the development host special events such as children's art camps and educational experiences.

The community is also known for its variety of outdoor spaces, making it an excellent place for the outdoor enthusiast. You can explore the scenic views at the Upper Las Virgenes Open Space Preserve, which has 3,000 acres of rolling hills and trails. It also hosts several picnic spots and is open to mountain bike riders. The nearby Orcutt Ranch offers scenery of a different sort, with large gardens, citrus orchards and several oak trees that are over 700 years old.

Jobs in Woodland Hills

Woodland Hills and the greater Los Angeles area have a diverse economy, with businesses in sectors ranging from health care and education to business services and media production. Cedar Sinai Medical Center, University of California at Los Angeles Health System, Miller Children's Hospital and Kaiser Permanente supply a huge number of health care jobs in the area. Production companies Sony Pictures Entertainment, Walt Disney Co., Fox Networks and Warner Bros. are the top places to look if you're interested in a media or entertainment career.
