About Fern Park

Fern Park is a small community in Seminole County, located in the heart of central Florida. Situated just 10 miles north of Orlando, Fern Park offers small-town appeal with all the attractions of Orlando and central Florida just minutes away.

In its early days, Fern Park was a quiet residential development in which each lot had its own fernery. Though parts of the original Fern Park development were incorporated into the neighboring city of Casselberry, Fern Park remains an independent area that boasts numerous waterways and planned communities.

Fern Park and the surrounding Seminole County are home to a variety of businesses and organizations in the information technology (IT), professional services, leisure and hospitality sectors. The metro area's largest IT employers include Cingular Wireless and Fiserv, while the county's major professional services employers include the American Automobile Association (AAA) and Convergys Corp. Hilton Hotels is the area's largest leisure and hospitality employer, providing a large number of jobs at all levels throughout the county.

Despite its small size, Fern Park does have green space and several small bodies of water within its borders. For a scenic walk in the Florida sunshine, nearby Casselberry Greenway Trail is a 5-mile path that connects the neighborhoods of Casselberry with its schools, parks and major shopping areas.

Fern Park is home to both single-family houses and higher-density apartment buildings. Most of the community's high-density housing is near major roads like U.S. Highway 17 and State Highway 436. Single-family homes are clustered around Lake Prairie, Lake Jessup and the area's south side.

Because of the wide selection of property types, prices vary widely in Fern Park. You can easily find affordable condos or townhomes or spend a significant amount on larger, new-construction homes near local lakes.
