Someone broke into my storage unit. Also, I always have to wait a long time to get assistance at my location when I need it. Recently, I tried to set up an online account, but they required me to go to the physical location to do so. I have to drive 32 miles today just to register my email. I'm definitely moving to a different company's storage service. This Public Storage experience has been a complete nightmare.

Jorge was a very big help and explained everything easily to us. He showed us the unit we were interested in and let us know how things worked and what to consider when moving certain items in. He also took time to help us make sure we used the app to open the gate for easy access. It was awesome!

Needed a unit the day of, and Jorge was quick to show us what we needed, get us signed up, answer any of our questions, and have us out and ready to start moving very quickly.

I do not recommend this storage. 6 months ago I rented a unit and was told that they did not have many units available so their advertisement for the first month free is false and now in November they increased the price of the unit by 25% so when I call because of this increase I They say that since the rent is month to month they can raise the prices without any notification and the excuse for the increase was the same as when I rent the unit…”there is a lot of demand and few units” to which I reply “then if the demand drops, the price will drop. price?" and his answer was "prices never go down, rather they go up every 3 or 6 months". very disappointed with this company

I’ve been having my things stored at another facility in the neighborhood (rhymes with wife porridge) & had the worst experience. Their manager was extremely unprofessional & my storage rate was going up every month without any explanation. I decided to check out other options & found an awesome promotion for public storage. Jorge called me as soon as I put in my reservation with further information about the storage unit & overall process. Coming in he actually showed me the unit & went over cost, entryway, & further details. He was extremely helpful! If you’re in the Edgewater/Andersonville area I highly recommend this facility

Great experience. Easy to access facilities, mobile entry to gates. Storage spaces are clean and well lit - just make sure to turn on the lights in the hallways you’re using. Large freight elevators and carts for moving your items. Jorge was super helpful, flexible and kind! He helped me locate my unit, answer questions about billing, and close out my account when I moved out. Would definitely recommend!

Since it was my first time putting my stuff into storage I had so many questions and concerns. I had the pleasure of meeting with Jorge. The black make staff here is a liar. He purposefully charged me late fees. And I spoke with this guy about the late fee and he said he'd waive it once I pay off the monthly charge, so I did. However, this guy did NOT waive the charge and does NOT even pick up the phone call although I kept calling over and over again.

Raised our rate by 60 bucks by sending us a tiny unmarked postcard. Apparently people fall for that often enough. Moved out and found a similar sized unit cheaper than my original price anyway. Absolutely will never rent from a public storage again. Hugely increasing the rate and trying to sneak it by you in a tiny postcard is super shady business practice.

Showed up at 4:30pm to load stuff into my new unit, and nobody was in the office. They also locked up all of the carts in the unmanned office so nobody could use them. The only cart left out was a stolen Whole Foods shopping cart. They also sold me on an 8x10 unit, but neglected to mention that there is a massive pillar running through it, taking up valuable space. Definitely should've rented from a different company. Its always something with Public Storage.

Elevators were being worked on so we couldn't get to our 2nd floor unit so they accommodated us to 1st floor main bldg. Staff very nice. Rates are going up Aug 1 2021 so luckily we are moving out and noticed quite a few others were doing the same to avoid the higher rates. They were down to two dollys. They had six, but people continue to steal them. We were told new ones are on their way.

I reserved a unit online and was called immediately to help me with any questions I had. When I came to get the keys for the unit, Sheena was attentive and brought us on a tour to show us the facility and unit. The unit was clean. She reminded us that the building is not climate controlled and told us we could purchase a small moisture absorbing tub which would prevent mold during the summer months when it gots hot and humid.

Convenient, great service… but right now The elevators are out one building

This place is NOT humidity and/or temperature controlled, though that is what I asked for online when booking. When I arrived, in the middle of moving day, is when I was told there wasn't available at this locations. I didn't have anywhere else to store my stuff, so I rented the unit for two years only to discover all my belongings covered with mold. Items that could be salvaged had a very moldy odor which I am hoping to be able to bleach away. If you store here long term, please get the insurance or make sure your homeowners insurance covers the damage AND don't put anything in that you are not willing to lose and/or throw away. People are nice, but the facility is very poorly maintained.

I became homeless because of Gentrification and needed somewhere secure to put my belongings until I could get back on my feet.I have had no problems with this facility,it's pretty secure.The staff there are pretty helpful.Jorge really cares about helping people.

This particular Public Storage seems to be temperature controlled (though I'm not actually sure if it is), it was much cooler than the one across the street & seemed much cleaner.

Destroyed our belongings from water damage because they aren't regulating humidity properly. Water all over the floors. Mold everywhere...when I asked her for help manager Becca Spena did nothing and even tried to charge me for a few boxes so I could try to carry away the few things not destroyed. Trash management and location.

I lost my lease due to Gentrification.I lived at the same place for 17 years since 2002.It's just a tiny studio apartment with a nice sunny view but the place is a dump.They want me out to paint it and rent it for more money.Hey it's life it's reptilian capitalism,Oh well what can I do.I felt bad and not exactly sure what to do I needed a solution to figure out what to do to secure my belongings while I figure out what my possible options are because rent is sort of ridiculously high in Chicago for what it is.I felt sad and had a sort of lost feeling.I went online and reserved my storage locker at Public Storage and set a move in date.It was actually pretty simple it only took a few minutes.I went in to pay for everything on my move in date and the guy working at Public Storage Alfonso was great at explaining everything to me and getting everything set up.Alfonso has a very pleasant personality and charm he made me feel very welcome.He showed me around the facility that is built like a fortress with cameras all over the place.I felt like the place was a great place to store my stuff while I figure out what I'm going to do next.I have a very good impression of Alfonso and Public Storage.The place is built like a Fortress or Castle and Alfonso is like the Storage Knight maintaining the Castle.Public Storage helped take a sad moment in my life full of uncertainty and turn it into a less sad moment.

This was our first time renting a storage unit so we checked out multiple locations in our area, finally settling on the Public Storage managed by Jorge. Jorge took the time to explain the process of renting a storage unit in a friendly and professional manner. He showed us multiple sized units and explained the process in detail, which made our storage decision much easier. We recommend visiting both Public Storage locations (Big Broadway and Little Broadway) if you need extra storage. We settled on Big Broadway because it offered the size and price we needed.

I was told all I had to do was take my lock off and they wouldn't charge me. Now I have a collection letter for a full month I didn't use. These people are crooks and liars. Do not use them.

The only reason im writing this is because i heard theresa asking her renter about her service. That poor girl must of had 8 or 10 people waiting to pay there bills. She was ending a rental i think. Some jerk and thats putting it mildly started on her being ignorant she was very polite in her situation. She told all of us that she was alone and shes doing everythiing she can and thank you for waiting and being so patient. Unfortunately i couldnt wait i had already been there 15 minutes had to go to work. But i just cant believe how rude that man was to that girl. In my opinion shes a rock star!!

They were efficient and not me the unit I needed I only wish that they had longer hours on Sunday so then that way I would have been able to use one of the rolling carts.

This location is wonderful and the people working there are awesome. I had several questions and concerns and Kenisha helped me with each one easily,efficiently, and effectively. I would recommend her and this location to everyone i kno.

Very friendly and quick service!

Jorge was great; super professional and efficient. What I do NOT like are bait and switch corporate practices. For example, online you will be quoted a price and can reserve it for that price. Then when you arrive you are told you have to buy a special $19 lock which you get to keep but is useless on anything but this kind of mechanism. The $1 for the first month is great -- then the $24 administrative fee. Then at the very end of the process you're told you have to choose a mandatory insurance plan with a monthly cost; which means the quoted price was a lie. I didn't mind the final price, what I very much dislike is a lack of transparent pricing and bait and switch business models. Next time I need storage I will put effort in using a company that doesn't trick their customers.

People who work there are nice and helpful .The approach and strategies of GROWING BUSINESS is where i think is really ugly .

Jorge and TJ were great help in helping me decide which space would best fit my needs. There customer services was refreshing.

When I got there Jorge was there to get me set up and did it quickly and efficiently without it feeling rushed and that's a fine line. I felt I could ask any question I had. Nobody likes paperwork but he made it as painless as possible. Everything was as promised when reserving online.

Jorge took care of me in a timely fashion. He postponed his lunch to get me taken care of. Very professional.

Just awful. A bunch of scammers. Made a reservation for $188/month and when we go in there to reserve it, suddenly it is now $225. Not to mention when I called to verify they do nothing but hang up on you. Total scam! Go elsewhere.

I was asked to write a review by Emanuel, who assisted me with the initial paperwork. I have no complaints about his assistance. However, I was not given the price that I reserved the unit for online, less than a week prior to going in. The manager, whom he called, apparently told him that the website had made an error. I had a print-out of the reservation in hand, but was still charged more than the reservation promised.

A few years ago I paid a visit to the Public Storage facility at 5643 N. Broadway St. Chicago, which is a stone's throw from where I live. I simply walked in to rent a storage locker. But I had the misfortune of running into someone, who for whatever reason wasn't quite sold on the benefits of smiling. So it was telling how this meeting of sorts would evolve. Nonetheless, I figured that if I used hand gestures I might, just, convince him over how small a locker I could make do with, until I practically brought my bidding to a size so small that it wasn't worth remonstrating over, finally. As for customer service, well, I might have received better customer service and spent my time most productively anywhere else. But, then, years later, still daunted by that bewildering experience, I was again drawn to that same store, so as to test Einstein's rumination on insanity. The difference now - is that an out with the old in with the new customer friendly C change has brought with it some appeal. Someone had gotten the message; perhaps walked in my shoes; saw what I saw. The people in charge now are a new breed of talent, youthful and adept at what they're doing; and I can only wish them luck. Kyle in particular calculated the exact amount of space I had been looking for all along, since space comes at a premium in this vicinity.

Wow. Was really impressed with the customer service and how clean the storage units were. Sounds weird huh? Not really. Had been to other facilities and the tops of the units were covered with clear tarps with so much junk falling from the ceiling I was worried about how safe my books, papers and furniture would be. This place is super clean and Jorge went out of his way to answer all my questions and go everything in detail. You can tell this guy should be moved to a high management position and train others. He knows his job and how to treat customers with professionalism and "people person" skills that are so lacking out there these days. Undercover Boss needs to send Public Storage's CEO to meet this guy. I give this location 5 stars but JORGE Gets a 10. I really hope the company and not just consumers take the time to read these reviews. A great employee is what sold me on giving this Public Storage my business.

This review is being provided to comment on the awesome service provided by Jorge. When I came through the door he got up from his seat and walked from behind the counter to ask how he could assist me. I explained my need and he suggested a great deal to meet my need. I was paying for the deal with company funds. I did not have enough of their cash to cover the cost so I had to use some of mine. He quickly worked out a solution for the challenge, providing me with two receipts to represent the cost break down. The service he provided was stellar. Glad to have found a storage place near where I live. I needed a place to store stuff while I remodel and paint. No lock needed since the units have them build into the doors.

They charged me $187.00 for 4 days!!!!!!! Really???? They should have at least pro-rated the cost. That was the most expensive storage ever. Plus they have special lock that you have to purchase and it can't be used on any other lock. So that was a wasted $5.00. You should be able to return the lock and get your money back. Very dissatisfied because of that!

The staff constantly changes. The District Manager is unprofessional. They do NOT give you the $1 for the first month OR the prices listed on the internet when you go to the facility and their excuse is that those prices are different "specials" they don't have. The rent goes up yearly yet the doors are always broken. I had 2 spaces and one I had to switch into my employers name and I was told 3 different ways to do it and none of them were correct. 4 months later we are still trying to get it resolved. Don't rent here!

With Jorge and Walter managing this PS, things have been running smoothly. It's clean, both inside and outside the facility. The elevator works smoothly, bathroom is clean, they just added some more new flatbed carts and the gate and doors are all in good working condition. I've actually used a storage facility where I was stuck on the elevator for 45 minutes, one of the carts had a rope instead of a handle, the gate was broken in the open position, the automatic sliding glass door stayed open, there was a strong fishy smell on my floor where my locker was located, the toilet was broken and I was constantly driving over garbage in the parking lot. But, that is not the case at PS. Since joining PS with Jorge and Walter, thing's have been smooth sailing. Plus, they and the rest of the workers there are always available, helpful and personable. I also recommend using this particular PS facility because it is conveniently located right off of Lake Shore Drive for easy access to and from where I need to be.

I want to thank Jorge for his efficient and professional help today! I arrived at the storage facility without my ID card and Code # to open the gate. I went into the office and Jorge quickly found my account and made a new card for me. He also helped unlock the dolly so that we could unload the car and transport our items for storage, and secured it again when we were finished. I been moving some of my stuff into storage because i will be going off to college and going to be staying at the dorm and as i was shopping around for a storage place it way stressful because at some places i looked at were way over priced and seemed like employees kept a good eye on the units so did not feel like my property would be safe but after talking to Derrick Pham i was finally able to find the perfect storage place. The staff at the Public Storage on Broadway in Edgwater were very friendly and helpful. When moving in, they ensured that I understood the paperwork and were very efficient. The facility is clean and well maintained and easy to move in and out of. Since I work during the office hours, I am forced to do most of my moving when the office is closed. It would be nice if there was access to carts while the office is not open, but I am sure if the carts were not locked up they would be stolen and then there would be no carts at all.

I had to store all of my belongings for three years while I was out of work. This place was affordable, clean and the staff were always friendly and helpful.

The staff has always been friendly and easy to work with. The buildings are clean and they have 4 carts available to help move in and out. Jorge, the manger is always helpful and today Tina was great

I had a good experience overall. The only hiccup was that when I made a reservation on the phone, they told me one unite/price, but when I went to move my things in, that unit wasn't available. It all worked out fine, though, and the move out was especially easy. Jorge was helpful and professional.

I'm sending this message to my storage at 5733 North Broadway, My experience with this location has been so amazing from day (1) coming in after reserving several spaces meeting with Carmen. I was uncertain of the safety of my belongings, and Carmen gave me so much assurance showing me the security system, my security code, the original space I reserved didn't meet my needs and Carmen put forth full customer service and said I have a space I believe would accommodate your needs and sure enough the space met what I needed Carmen is truly an asset, no matter what's going on she always try to get a smile or a laugh which always makes my experience pleasant when coming into the storage. Truly an amazing representative.

Everyone at this Public Storage location was very helpful and I would definitely recommend it to anyone! I mainly interacted with / dealt with a gentleman named Jorge who made my experience here great. He was always available for questions or to help, and more than once I personally saw him dealing with a couple difficult customers / situations that he handled very professionally. This location was also clean and well maintained. I would definitely recommend this location or use it again in the future should I have the need!

This public storage if a very clean and safe place to leave your valuable items, the service that Erica give you is very job friendly that would make you want to come back again and always recommend friends.The entire building is huge with extra space for parking and also the units are big enough . I would surely recommend this public storage to any one.

This place was great while we were living in temp housing. Jorge and the rest of the staff made everything go smoothly. I would recommend anyone needed extra storage to give them a call.
