Edited 1/3/21- Though I assume this is probably standard in the storage industry, Public Storage routinely raises their fee, and it's just about out of range for us now. Also, we are on the top floor. There was water damage visible on the ceiling, but they assured us that the roof leak had been repaired. But it reeks of mold/mildew in our unit. (It did not smell when we moved in, or we wouldn't have accepted that space.) So, everything we have there will stink, and we won't take anything there that could pick up the odors. No longer happy with Public Storage, and we are shopping around to move elsewhere. So far, so good. We recently rented a storage unit at this location. This is our first time doing business with Public Storage. We were looking for a unit somewhat close to home with the best rate at the time on the size we needed. I was impressed by how friendly and helpful the staff were! Rickey was the employee that walked us through the process, and he was fantastic. He was new and training, and it all still went smoothly. They ask a whole lot of questions, I assume to be sure that you've selected the correct size for your needs, so the initial visit is not fast. We have yet to move anything into the space, but I anticipate all will continue to go well.

Very friendly people work here and let us store a trailer overnight in the locked parking which was very secure. If I needed to store anything, I would definitely go here first......

I used a storage locker here for 4 months while I planned to be living across the country for awhile. The staff here, whenever I interacted with them, were super nice and helpful. That's something you don't quite expect from a storage place, but it was great! The pricing on the unit was good and the process was super easy. They do month by month and have a lot of options for how much space you need. Not sure when I plan to use storage again, but if I ever do again I'd come here.

During a pretty complicated move to Chicago, I needed temporary storage space, so I found this Public Storage facility near my new apartment online. Rebecca confirmed my rental agreement over the phone, and I was all set. What started out as a couple month rental became a full year - it really helped manage the overflow from a tiny apartment! If you’re looking for clean, secure, climate controlled storage at a reasonable price, give them a try. And special shout out to Rebecca for always being courteous and helpful - she rocks!

This is the best storage facility in the city. Besides having covered parking in a great location, Rebecca provided impeccable customer service and made my experience friendly and flawless.

I have had a storage unit at this location since July 2019. Rebecca worked with me throughout my lease and move in process and most recently with my move out process (leaving the area so no longer need the unit.) Rebecca made the whole process over the past two years a great experience. The unit was easily accessible through out the week and team was always available to help.

I was looking for short term storage and chose this location after reading the great reviews. Rebecca lived up to the hype and then some! She is super friendly, took time to show me several units, was patient with me while I tested out the lock & door operation, and was helpful pointing out the supplies available for sale. The facilities are clean and very accessible. You can use your phone to open the gate if you prefer touch-free access. Automatic billing makes it one less thing to deal with.

(22336) First time reviewing but this is a good place I love the prices and the cleanliness of it and I also love how nice the staff are. But overall it’s a good place. Also Rebecca is a very friendly and nice person she helped my dad with a lot when he got the unit which I appreciate:).

Rebecca is extremely helpful with accomodating new clients in opening their storage space, more so than one would/should ever reasonably expect. On one occasion, a spare key fell off of my keychain in the parking garage and she went out of her way to contact every patron who had accessed the garage that day to track down its owner. Storage is ez here as well, big elevators, solid space for the price.

I was shopping for a storage space When I stopped by the Western Avenue facility (store #20485). I was greeted by friendly and knowlegable store manager Mary Doris, and given a tour. She sold me on the facility, showing the variety of spaces (and upgradability), the security measures, affordability, and ease of managing my account. She answered all my questions and made me comfortable working with Public Storage, and secure in the knowledge that she and like highly qualified individuals are looking after my belongings. Mary's customer service was outstanding. However the facility was too cold; I need a climate controlled environment for my scuba gear.

Rebecca was super friendly and walked me through all of the details of my storage unit and got me set up. Moving and packing can be stressful but this was the easiest part!

(Follow Up 1/14/2021) Rebecca is still amazing. 😁 I noticed that my rent price increased due to loss of promotion. I quickly called her to see if my rate could be lowered. She told me that she would reach out to corporate and call me back no later than 48 hours. Well she followed up in less than an hour and told me that I received a lower rent price. I'm truly grateful for her efforts. Her customer service is amazing. I feel that my items are safe and secure knowing that she is managing the location. Best follow up and courtesy ever. First review, it’s not the sort of thing I usually do. Yet this place is very diligent about suggesting them, and they’re so nice, so I decided to take the time. This is a great facility. It’s kept tidy, clean, and secure. The rates are fair, but the policies are strict. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Rebecca, in particular, is always helping out anyway she can. If I am in need of storage in the future, I will return to this location. Thank you all!

The last thing I wanted/needed on my plate during a move/new construction was a complicated storage unit reservation. Rebecca was extremely helpful! She answered all of my questions, even the ones she had already answered. Asked if I would rather finish the reservation in person or online. When a small issue came up she took care of it for me and put me at ease right away!! Her communication skills are honestly amazing! I actually look forward to her calls. The lobby is very clean and covid safe! The floor is clearly labeled as to where to stand! My storage unit was spotless, didnt have to worry about my things getting dirty during their stay there!

The staff was courteous and helpful for the most part. This was my first time renting a storage unit so I was trying to get myself familiarized with the process. When I came in to sign the contract, however, I came away with more questions than answers. I made an online reservation with a specified move-in date but the staff asked me over the phone when I wanted to come in. This confused me because I thought the date was already set for that. I confirmed multiple times if I can come in early just to view the unit, but not have to pay until the move-in date and even after I decided "yes" to rent the space. So I came in early but come to find out my payment started on THAT day. Hence, paying more than necessary. Luckily, another staff member named Ricardo was very helpful and got me a credit adjustment. I think the initial staff could've done a better job of presenting info in a manner that's not misleading. Also, felt a tinge of pressure to sign earlier than I wanted.

Rebecca and Joanna did a great job of helping me with anything I needed during my time using Public Storage. They were always very polite and helpful. I highly recommend using this location for all your storage needs.

Rebecca is the best! I've had a unit here for a few years and ehrn I asked, she totally put in a word to get me a discount for being long term and in good standing. A while back someone had done some minor damage to the door (looked like something from a huge piece of furniture) and I was notified right away to come check my unit. No one had gotten in, and it's reassuring that they called and let us know.

I initially spoke on the phone with the Manager, Rebecca, who was very personable and pleasant and invited me in the same day to see a few different units. Once on site, I was introduced to Rickey, a new hire, who did a great job of welcoming me and starting the registration process including asking specific questions about the nature of what I would be storing. Only being a week on the job, there were a few questions that he didn't have answers for when we were up checking out the actual individual units, but he made sure to get me the answers I needed as soon as we got back to the office. The only thing I would caution people about, especially if they went the online route, is that on the website, there was no mention of additional costs such as being required to buy a $20 lock or needing to pay for insurance. Additionally, the calculations that their system used seemed to overcharge me $3-4 for the two pro-rated days (really only 1.25 days) to the beginning of the billing cycle which starts on the first of each month, so when I went in expecting to pay the $24 admin charge and the $1 for the "first month" promotion ($25 total, as it quoted me on the website as what I would be paying that day), I ended up walking out of there being charged $65 with all of the additional fees. That was a bit of shock considering what the website had told me a mere hour or two earlier. The actual registration process was pretty straight-forward as Rickey walked me through all the legalese on the digital touch pad screen and both him and Rebecca continued to answer my questions and make recommendations for me. Overall the process was fairly smooth and the staff answered my questions fully. Each of the 2-3 times I've been back since, Rebecca has remembered me and greets me with a big smile and positivity. I would recommend this storage facility for location, ease of use (getting in and out), cleanliness as well as the friendly and helpful staff!

For years I've have had a space at this facility. I was actually here before the manager Rebecca was here. She has made my experience a lovely one. Although I am glad to be moving on (okay, pun intended) it makes me sad that I won't be seeing her on a regular basis. I have enjoyed her and her teammates Charity and Ricky as well as the others who have come and gone. They all exuded her cheery and caring spirit.

I was impressed with this place. It was clean. The building had lots of doors so there was always one close, making loading and unloading a breeze. Carole was very helpful and friendly. I wish there was more light in the unit but that’s a minor issue. It’s open 6am to 10pm so it’s easy to get your stuff when you need it. The cylindrical locks on the unit doors are more secure than padlocks. I would definitely recommend this place!

This place is the worst. First of all they call you all the time asking to set up an appointment with you to talk you through everything. When I finally went they said they would start my rental that day even though my reservation was for the next week. I told them this and they said they couldn't guarantee my reservation if I didn't start paying immediately. They provide dollies and then lock them up so you can't access them unless they are there. 10/10 wouldn't use again if I can help it.

Moving can be stressful, I recently moved to Chicago from Orlando Florida and had a reservation for this location I was really impressed with the customer service i received from Rebecca I had a unit that was kind of expensive and she looked into it for me without even asking and help me with the cheaper rates and made sure I was comfortable with my selection she even looked around for different locations she made sure to had a cart for moving my boxes, I was really impressed with four customer service and I'm grateful that she was the one that took care of me I highly recommend this location

Experience was very easy and Rebecca was very helpful. I signed up with Public Storage a little over a month ago and they have made it really easy. Just the other day I hadn't locked my unit up properly and I even received a call from one of the representatives (Kershauna? I didn't fully get the name on my VM) there to inform me. I would not have expected that from a storage facility! Thank you to the team over there from start to finish!

Rebecca was fast and listened to my needs and immediately showed me all my options available throughout the clean facility. Even helped show me all the different spaces again when I transferred to a smaller space. Great experience over all!
