Absolutely the worst customer service and the rudest woman behind the counter. Consistently closeing before 6pm. My 86 year old grandmother came into purchase a few large boxes. Woman refused to help her get them out to the car that was literally parked right outside of the door. My father, 68, who has severe diabetic neuropathy and has braces on his legs got out of the car to help my grandmother and proceeded to fall in the parking lot. Yes I know this was not the establishments fault but the woman who sat inside and watched this all happen proceeded to come to the door, lock it and sat back behind the counter. She couldn't even be bothered just to ask if these two elderly people were ok or if any help was needed. Just plain disrespectful. We do have a storage unit here as well and will be promptly moving everything out this week and going to a place that cares about their customers.

If I could leave -5 I would. First of all the storage is not prorated which I was never told. On top of that there is no carts if you want to have a cart to move some of your stuff you have to ask for one at the whole property that is in the office. The manager of this location is just rude chooses not to do the job that she is required to do especially explaining to some of the customers how everything works. I wish I knew all of this before I rented a unit from this place. Never again will I rent any units from public storage ever again

Easy access and friendly service

So the girl named Emily is very rude and disrespectful I had my Uncle come over and pick up my washer and dryer a refrigerator and a couch due to me not having a truck and she came up to my unit and said that I cannot condone business Emily is very disrespectful she should not be working at public storage and it is harassment she also told me that I wasn't allowed to have my service dog there when I'm legally blind in my left eye she told my husband who was walking my dog to let her go pee that we were now allowed to let my dog out of the car to use the bathroom even though we were there for 10 plus hour

I called to see how much it was for a 10 x 10 storage unit they quoted me a price of 120 with tax and everything it came to 140 my brother and his wife got their unit two days later I called to get my unit they sent me an email telling me that my price was now 189 went into speak to the lady on the day that I was putting my stuff in the storage unit she tells me my price is now 210 I asked why she said because the price fluctuates this is at 5:45 PM they close at six I have a truck full of things to put in a storageI am stuck everybody’s closing at six I have to have the truck back at U-Haul at eight I was stuck so now I’m paying 210 a month instead of 140 not happy As far as I’m concerned this was a scam if you see an ad in the newspaper from milk for 250 a gallon you get to the store it’s now five dollars a gallon don’t they have to honor that price guess if you want a storage unit you don’t

Very, very, very, very, very dirty. Unit had broken plastic, and all kinds of garbage on the floor when we went to move in. The keys and lock were in there as promised, so whoever put those in, had to have seen the garbage and just left it for us. We were also greeted with the rodent deterrent bags in the corners of the unit, not a good sign. Door to go in the storage building looks like it had been chewed by rats. Carts are locked up front in the office if you happen to go in the evening (after 5), so you are out of luck. We paid for the month, we didn't even use it. Got a unit at another storage facility, too many red flags here.

I’ve never had a better customer service experience before in my life. Shawna was amazing and super helpful. It’s comforting to know that I can return to a business that I have no doubts will take care of me because of their amazing employees.

Do not rent from this facility I was a loyal customer for about two years I was never late on a payment. We just recently moved and I have been calling and calling to get instructions regarding what we should do when we move out now I have a $75 bill. I do not recommend this location and it is so much more I would like to say I would never do business with them again. We moved out before November 1, The manager NEVER returned my call. I called him several times during the month of October and I have called him in November.

terrible place, a big disappointment, double blll. Nobody has authority to fix THEIR MISTAKE. sent a $46. bill to a collection agency showed them a printed receipt, played a voice mail, and showed a text all from them saying it was all taken care of and they can't explain the letter from the credit collection company and to add insult said they would request a waiver, proof was in their hand how about just do your job!!!! a gentleman ahead of us tried to get confirmation from the lady that he moved out and she told him he had to pay for the whole month he told her this is the 3rd of the month doesn't matter, find another storage facility poorly ran, overcharges, never in the office of posted hours, and always the same we will look into it just stay away!!!

Great, clean facility. Hours are very convenient. They have everything you need to make your experience easy including carts and ladders. Sidney is amazing in every way. She is beyond helpful, friendly, kind, attentive and caring to your needs while your on the property. Anything you need Sidney is there to help!

Couldn't find cart that they offer to help with transporting items cause someone has it locked it in their personal storage unit. They should be charged for it when they don't return the key for it

I have never rented a storage space before. Wasn't sure what to expect. The front desk employee, Joy, was very nice and helpful! I didn't need a lot of space and based on what I planned to store, she found the perfect size. Never tried to upsell for more space than I needed. The unit prices vary by floor and size. My 5x5 on the 1st floor is $63 a month and $15 for insurance. First months rent was half off! They provide the lock and the building has a code entry security system. On top of that, the grounds are gated and require a code to access. Overall, very happy!

I was efficiently told about about storage by Joy. She was friendly and helped me pick out the storage that suites my load . She stated my lock along with a Boucher and envelope would inside the unit. However following the next morning I arrived with my son. At 7am we were on the 2nd floor hauled everything upsides and down the aisles only to find the unit locked with Public Storage 🔐. We had to then haul everything back down stairs to our car. I did return at 9:45 and MARTIN was extremely apologetic and helpful.

Friendly, knowledgeable service and a clean storage unit in a convenient location.

I stored here for winter. Came back summer. Everything destroyed by squirrel vermin... When I rented i took the $3k insurance option. It was not explained that you can only claim $250 per type of damage eg. Water, pest etc. It was not explained because I believe the staff just know that's your cheapest option. Orange storage contacted me once because I left a bad review because I had to haul my damaged items to discard at my own expense ...oh we don't offer dumpsters but they will take another payment if you're not out. I paid for the 2 weeks I took to clean the unit out cleaned out ...the insurance company apologized & assured me by these pics they will do their best to help me recover whatever is possible. They did. Also,I have my winter storage for household overflow & sunroom items secured at Extra Space Storage and because of my bad experience with Public storage I got a very special deal from Extra Space.

Jen & Rick were very friendly, informative and their storage units are very clean. Plus their prices are great!!! Prices WERE great, in a little over a yr my rent has gone up almost $100.00 I have a unit elsewhere for same amount of time and has only gone up $5.00. It's like they get you with good price then once you have all your stuff in there they screw you. My advise only use them on very short basis or just go elsewhere. And when you call to get answers it's out of their hands and rude about. The smiling faces don't last!!!

I went in today to buy some boxes because I’m moving soon. Camille was very helpful in explaining the different packages of boxes and asked very polite questions to make sure to recommend the right box amount for me. I ended up leaving with out buying anything because I didn’t bring enough for the amount I needed but I will definitely be back because of her and tell all my friends to see her too!

I called to reserve a unit and they told me it would be ready first thing in the morning. I met with Jen and she was absolutely terrific. She explained all of the details of my rental and gave me a tour. Jen made everything so easy for me! 5 stars for Jen, the ease of access, and the cleanliness of the property!

If I could give zero stars I would. Public storage has the worse customer service. I am in a 3 month battle now due to storage I don't owe for. My calls have went as far as store manager, district manager and regional vice president and no response yet. But the very harassing collection department stills calls even tho I have given details as to why I don't owe them money and to forward it up to their supervisor! I would never use them again.

Property # 08701: The property manager Jen is very helpful and explains everything in full.... I'm updating my original review from a year ago. One of the things we liked about that place was that there was a gate and that the doors to the inside units were locked (both which you needed a code to enter). The day we moved our stuff into the unit the gate was temporarily broken, and when we asked about it, we were told it was being maintenanced that day and would be fixed. We came back about a week later and the gate was still not fixed. The day we looked at the unit the door to get inside was locked. But ever since then... every time I've been there the door isn't locked... In fact, the door is always wide open. Today I tried to close and lock it, but it doesn't even shut. Lastly, I assumed that there would be a rent increase at some point in time, but you don't realize how much you're paying until they finally increase it. I've had my stuff there for a year-and-a-half and the rent has increased twice. Paying almost $180 for an inside 10 x 15 unit (units that are inside with heat/air cost more.) So all in all, yes... The property managers are very nice to you when you're intially moving in and require assistance. However, had I known that the door would never close and lock, I'd probably go elsewhere. Especially since every time I'm there I run into some seedy-looking people.

I ordered a unit online, when we got there that particular one was not available, But the lady that works there name Jen, was very nice into getting us one similar but same size, she also went out of her way to call other locations nearest to this one too see if they had the one we wanted in general BEFORE we even got there, so that was a plus for us to know they looked into it for us just in case.. with Jen doing that, and offering what she could at this location and driving from out of state, we decided that we would just stay there and accept her other offer... I would recommend this place !!! The people here will go out of their way to make sure they can do the best for their customers!!

The Public Storage facility in Roseville off of Gratiot that is maintained by Jen is the one place you want to store you precious items. I worked with Jen for several days needing a unit which I had reserved with the PS off of Groesbeck and 14mile. I was very disappointed in the manager there as very time I tried calling no one ever answered their phone. While Jen always answers her phone and always has a positive attitude and willingness to help get the job done. I decided that if I ever needed to store my items I would use this storage just because of Jen she made me feel everything will be okay and my items would be safe which is not at all how I felt with this other Public Storage. I believe and always have used Public Storage, but each place is only as good as their mangers and employees at each unit. I recommend just pay the price and deal with a responsible Jen as she gets it done right.

This was my response to the survey I was sent by public storage. Not lie to me. I was told my monthly rent would never go up from my initial 111.00. And it went up 2 times. Locking up the two carts for use of moving things around is a joke. This place is the absolute worst I wouldn’t recommend to anyone. What a bunch of cheapskates locking up carts when I pay 143 $ A month. Take the 500 dollars for this survey and invest in some extra carts you low life’s.

I can't complain! I was late paying my rent & corporate waived the late fee for me. (In regards to initial first month) However, please be advised that you'll pay more than $1 after the application process, insurance and forcefully having to purchase their special made maximum security lock that's $21!

Very easy to set up a unit reservation online. When I came in to complete a reservation, Jen and Rick were very helpful and explained everything I would need to know for the year, since I will not be in the area. However, after everything was moved in and I was out of state, my monthly rate jumped (2 months after I signed all the agreements) with no warning. I was told my unit would be pro-rated upon move out, but this was not true either. I was billed June 3 and am moving my belongings out June 11 and was told that they don't pro-rate after the 6 of the month; so essentially you pay for the whole month after you move out - so schedule move out accordingly. The unit itself has been fine for what I needed for the year but I would not use this location again.

Unit and location are good. Rent is becoming a little too expensive for me though (raised twice in a year and a half). Also, gate is usually unsecured (open) during business hours.

I was looking for some info on a storage unit and went to visit with Jennifer at this location. She was kind, courteous and very informative with the whole process. She recommended another location in the area that was closer to where I lived. I would recommend this location to anyone that lives nearby.

They raise their prices entirely too much for my liking. They start you off with a low rate, then a few months later, they raise the prices and the cycle continues every few months. This is better for very short term leases. Anything over 3 months is a bad idea.

Great customer service. Super friendly, we got our unit late in the day because we had to work, and were moving at night. They accommodated us with 24 hour access for one night so we didn't have to take time off work the following day to finish moving. Building was a little warm upstairs where our unit was, but overall we were very happy.

Public storage provides great service and amenities for its customers. Climate controlled and specific gate hours keep your belongings safe and secure. Andy helped me during my check out and was very friendly and warm spirited. When in transition again I'll be sure to work with public storage. Thanks again.

Jen is the most unprofessional rude employee I have ever encountered. She blamed the tenents for the company not maintaining the building. She acted like she was to good to help me. Jen did take the time to tell me that it wasn't her problem that there were no carts because it's not in the contract (her words not mine). I didnt see her smile once, but she did roll her eyes at me quite a few times. The only elevator in the entire place only stays open for about 30 seconds and slams closed weather you are standing there or not. I would absolutely give zero stars if I could. I don't know who they paid to write the positive reviews but they are nowhere near true. I have talked to a few other tenents and they were all as unhappy with this place as I am. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS PLACE. Do not believe the good reviews. Save yourself the hassle and find a place to store your things that believes in customer service and building maintenance.

Jen and Rick made the move from Washington State to Michigan for my sister in law as smooth as it possibly could've been. They worked with us long before the actual move in date. This location is great.

So i get to this location at about 945am the guy working is on the phone so i wait then i tell him what im looking for he says hes busy and by law has to make these phone calls for properties that are in default and about to go up for auction so come back in 2hrs but we do have a auction today at noon so if you come then i may not be able to show you them at that time all i wanted to see was a 10×10 heated unit does it take all day to show a property to a potential renter i guess i dont understand

Had a great experience with Jen and Rick. They were very helpful helping pick the right storage unit. We were moving family member belongings after moving family member into Assisted Living. Traveled from California to Michigan to get this done in one week and everything went smoothly. I feel very good about the security at this location on Gratiot Rd and highly recommend. The move went smoothly for both Family member and personal belongings. We will be moving there in about 6 months and will need some storage for our belongings and I will definitely use this same facility. Keep up the great team work Rick and Jen.

I am writing to praise the excellent customer service that I received from Jen. She assisted my wife and me with moving from an existing unit in her facility to a smaller one at the same location. She was very friendly, informative and helpful to us. We had many changes in the day and time of our move, and Jen never stopped being patient, helpful and good-humored. This has been a long review, but my wife and I feel excellent customer service should not go unrecognized, especially as it becomes less common to experience it!

I got very frustrated at first bc I reserved online a unit with the belief that fit my first month it would be about $25 (50%off) but when I got in to do the paperwork I was informed of a one time $15 administration fee, that I wound be required to buy a $19 lock abd to purchase monthly insurance and my total became $70+ dollars. I expressed to the attendant Nichole that I was frustrated at the obvious misusing of that sale price listed online. I expressed that our was ridiculous to not tell people ahead of time clearly what they are going to need to pay and that it was misleading abd dishonest. Nichole was very understanding abd I appreciated that she didn't give me some half assed answer to subdue me. Instead she images me in honestly taking about the situation. She was delightful and very kind. She understood how I felt and didn't try to explain away the issue, she just apologized abd said she wished it was clearer to, because she doesn't want people mislead, but also want afraid to defend that I and other customers need to be more informed by reading the fine print. I really appreciated her candid demeanor. In the end I an giving a 5 star review because Nichole made the whole endeavour more pleasant. She showed me the space which was clean and safe, she showed me where I could get a rolling car abd then when I came a few hours later to move in my stuff she had left a rolling car right in front of my unit so I wouldn't have to go liking for one. Top notch customer service!....but seriously public storage ... please more transparency in the fees!!

I actually don't rent from this storage facility, but my mother does. Whenever I'm in town, I try to help her move things in and out. I've come by often enough to know that the staff, especially Mark, who always seems to be there when I'm in town, are amazing and helpful. They all do a fantastic job of customer service. Mark especially has been amazing, is always super polite, and goes out of his way to make sure my mom is getting the best service. The staff definitely make this storage facility a great one!

I signed up on 7-31-2014. Excellent service by Nichole. She was very friendly, helpful, and courteous. She went over all of the procedures for storage in a very thorough and efficient matter. On 8-5-2014 I needed more space and had to move to another storage cell. Tara was working and she was very helpful and knowledgeable in locating me another cell to store my stuff, she provided excellent customer service.

I have had experience with storage units before, but this location is a gem! Right price; good location, clean facility, I could go on and on but I am to tired to type that much. I must mention their staff though before I am through. Mark, Nicole, and Rick are some of the most courteous, helpful people I have encountered anywhere with individuals that deal with the public. I sure hope that they are compensated well; for at this location they are the backbone of a well run property. congratulations Public Storage of Roseville MI!
