About Getzville

Getzville is a small hamlet within the city of Amherst, in the western part of of New York. It's part of Erie County and Greater Buffalo-Cheektowaga. The community was named after Jacob and Franklin Goetz, who bought a parcel of land in the area in 1854 and built a large cooper shop and stave factory there.
