About Gallatin

Gallatin is a midsized city in north central Tennessee, just over 30 miles from the state capital of Nashville. It’s known as a family-centered community with a wide range of activities that cater to children and adults, as well as several parks and recreational facilities. Gallatin is also home to the headquarters and major operations facilities of a handful of large companies, including Gap, Berretta and ServPro Industries.

Parks and Recreation in Gallatin

There are several parks throughout the city that provide space and facilities for a variety of activities, whether you’re looking for somewhere to take a relaxing walk or play a game of softball. Gallatin’s parks feature numerous athletic fields, disc golf courses, fishing, walking trails and horseshoes. One of the most popular local spots is Old Hickory Lake. There you can enjoy fishing, boating, swimming and other water-related activities.

The city’s disc golf courses host several regular events for the Sumner County Disc Golf Association, including monthly competitions. There are also three different golf courses in Gallatin — two private and one public. If you have children, you can sign them up for one of the local Little League teams or the community soccer, basketball or swimming leagues.

Jobs in Gallatin

Commuting to Nashville is one option for work, with the drive taking less than an hour or so. However, you can also find job prospects in Gallatin, potentially shortening your commute and allowing you to work close to home.

Several large companies are either headquartered in Gallatin or maintain large operations there, including Gap, ServPro Industries and Berretta. Other major employers include RR Donnelly, the Sumner Regional Medical Center and Volunteer State Community College.
