About Cypress

Located in Harris County, Texas, Cypress is one of the largest unincorporated communities in the greater Houston area. Cypress is just a short drive from Houston and offers a comfortable yet lively retreat from the city. Originally settled by German immigrants, the city's German roots are evident in many of the major roads in the area. Cypress was mainly a rural area until the 1990s, when the development of several master-planned communities sparked significant growth.

Cypress offers county parks, numerous golf courses, youth and adult sports leagues, and ample shopping. The Cypress-Fairbanks community also boasts three performing arts centers, two country clubs and numerous entertainment opportunities.

Living in Cypress

The Cypress-Fairbanks area is home to numerous diverse businesses, including grocery retail chain Kroger, car retailer Louetta Automotive and energy provider Reliant Energy. PrideStaff, Clean Pressure Wash and i-Tech Technology Consulting are just a few of the community's notable small businesses, providing a balance of both large and small employers in the area.

Schools in Cypress

Cypress public schools are served by the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District, one of the fastest-growing districts in the state.
