It's the hours for me. Open late (9:30a) and close early (6p). This is not commensurate with most work schedules nor other PS in the area. At least extend the hours on weekends.

Since day one till the day I decided to vacate my storage Latoya and Cesar were so much help and I appreciate their communication and every aspect that I have had snd made it good I recommend for people to choose this facility as their storage thank you so much for everything.

ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE! BREAK INS! NO PROPERTY MANAGER ON SITE! THEFT!!!! I had reserved a unit two weeks prior to move in and was not given the numbered padlock code (not the gate code) to get into the building to access my unit through the app. Took me 3 hours on hold after multiple calls and emails sent before someone told me the code. This cost me $100 extra from renting my Uhaul Truck no thanks to this location and Public Storage with their poor customer service. Upon returning the following day, another customer had pictures of multiple break ins to his unit which looked like and inside job. I will NEVER do business here as I moved to another storage. You have been warned.

Rented a unit for only one month, went February 1st to go get my things and found that my unit was broken into and had everything taken the only thing they left was my daughters books and my mattress and when I went to the office to tell the front desk worker he asked “ when was the unit broken into” as if I knew exactly when they broke into the unit. My unit still had the lock on it which makes me believe it was a person working there that did this because the lock was not broken someone had access to my lock and went through all my things and then locked it back up

Clean spaces

Not a very secure place to store your things. I went to check on my unit after a few months of ongoing construction of the AC system. My unit had two holes on the outside and inside. I voiced my concern and was told that it would be done soon. It took more than two months. This last weekend I went to check on the unit once again and found that the latch where the lock goes was bent. Someone tried to break into the unit. Turns out several units were broken into on multiple occasions and no one was notified. At least I wasn't. I was told the latch would be replaced las week. I called to follow up and Jennifer could not give me an estimated time of when it would be replaced. So if the robbers tried again, they would be successful at removing the latch with the lock attached. Beware of this storage facility and the employees who act like they don't care.

The gentleman that waited on me was very helpful and knew what he was doing. I wish I could find more people at other places that I have gone too was like him.

Great prices and good security. I like that the staff knows your name! I've stored with them for a year now and I am satisfied with the facility - being able to have a storage on the 2nd floor is great during Houston's flooding! 23 October 2022 47 units were broken into! 3 weeks prior, 53 units were burglarized!

The worker was very helpful and knowledgeable about making sure he served me in a timely and fashionable way.

Friendly customer service and as long as you make majority of your payments on time they will work with you in emergencies only. Air conditioned and closed, big storage spaces. There were a few cons that I couldn’t really get past. Every time we went to this storage unit there were nails and screws spread out amongst the whole back side of all the driving areas. Be cautious because i had to replace many tires after visiting this place. If you have the option to walk through the buildings to the back, I would do that to spare your tires. The next thing was the storage units aren’t accessible past 6 on most days and 5 on Sundays. The gate will lock and you will have to call management to get you out. The last thing that I wasn’t too excited about is how all of my things had these tiny black bugs in the bottom of everything. Also all of our things had this gross sticky film over it, idk if it was from the bugs or what.

The front desk employee Cesar was incredibly helpful in helping me find the best suitable storage. Even granted me a tour.

Ridiculous rates increase rates. Took my business elsewhere. Expect for Public Storage to bait you in for a low low rate and hike it on you every few months.

UPDATE: The response from the business shows how unprofessional this location/company is. Still haven’t received a phone call from the manager, Cesar, as we were promised multiple times. I suggest potential customers look elsewhere. The gate closed on my car while my husband was on his way out after picking up a few things from our storage unit on 05/30/22. The man working that day was the janitor, who told us he hasn’t seen something like this before, that the sensor should have prevented this, and to call when the manager was going to be back the next day so he could figure out a way to fix the situation. We’ve called for two days since, with promises that the manager, Cesar, would call back with a solution for us. We’ve yet to hear anything back. This is the car I drive my kids around in. Although we’ve had no issues with storage there, this is completely unacceptable and very disappointing.

Hello my mother rented a unit at the 8430 Gulf Freeway Houston, TX 77017 location that has been broken into twice and management has refused to do anything both times when it came to security. It is appalling that this happens and the employees do not care. Both times have been reported to the police and a report to the BBB for the ineptitude and lack of responsibly demonstrated by your facility will be done. I am very displeased with your company and the practices shown. I will NOT be recommending your facility to anyone and will make sure no one I know rents from here.

Cesar is the man! He is very cool, calm and collected. He is knowledgeable about the facility and it’s operations. All I wanted was a quote but he made me feel better about using the storage facility. It’s was very convenient. The app basically does everything for you,.. the access, the codes, the payment etc. I highly recommend this particular location.

Gate locks at 6.. stayed cleaning my storage late and had to call 1-800# to get out. Understand the security part but if I got the code, LET ME OUT

This place sucks you need to get there early to get out can only put stuff in till 5:00 their lunch hour takes forever to get back basically have a have to have a whole day off to get your stuff in and out within 3 hours within 3 hours

Well today I was moving stuff in and out and the building was too hot I don't think the air conditioner is working every time I'll go, is way too hot and the elevators are not working, today I stay outside the elevator waiting for it to open and finally it opens and when I was inside the elevator is not even moving for 1 or 2 minites and I got scared I hope they fix the issues

Very poor experience today in trying to help my friend with a move. The manager on duty, James, was discourteous and unhelpful. There was only one elevator available and that had intermittent service. The lack of elevator availability greatly hindered what could have been an expedient move. We paid movers by the hour to sit and wait. There is no restroom for customers.

The customer service at this location is HORRIBLE!! I came on 11/09/19 the elevator was not working in the older 2 story building. I went to the office to inquire about the elevator and the woman (Lakeisha) said with an attitude, “It’s working, and we’ve been using it all week.” I said okay, it’s not working. She didn’t bother to check or apologize for the inconvenience. Basically, she didn’t care. I left since I wasn’t prepared to carry heavy items down a hallway and a flight of stairs. I returned on 11/16/19 and the elevator was still not working. As this point, I was done. I paid someone to help carry my heavy items down the stairs. I returned 11/23/19 to get the rest of my small stuff and the elevator was still not working. To make matters worse, there was huge dead rat in the unit. Customer service is clearly NOT a priority or a concern at this location.

A year later and we still have the pleasure of being helped by Keisha. She is very friendly and has great customer service! I would definitely recommend this storage facility.

I decided to move my property elsewhere for the following reasons: 1. The hours of operation do not work well for people who work 9-to-5 and also require access to storage during the week. 2. There is no dumpster that is available for customers to use. I understand this is usually due to the wrong items being thrown away in some cases, but it should be something that is clearly advised in the initial walk-through of the property (it was not). 3. The customer service at this location is absolutely horrible. And when calling to complain about the customer service oh, you are routed back to the same location instead of a district office. 4. The straw that broke the camel's back for me, if there needed to be anything else, wathat rats were eating some of my property. So now I am filing a claim for reimbursement.

I spoke on the phone to a lady named Leann I believe and she was so helpful with giving me information about varies storage units and the special y’all have going on. I will definitely be Storing at this location just by how nice and patient that young lady was on the phone with me.

Possible health risk later when I move things in my home. I can't move my things still working on my home for hurricane Harvey. I pay every month and my units are full of dust and who knows what else from construction. They were working on the place after Harvey and all the materials went thru the units and fell on all my items. When I move them my home will be full of dirt, debris, and unknown substance from the materials used by construction companies. I will most likely have to throw away most items due to health concerns. The insurance company is not helping me. It will take me months to clean up all this debris off my items before they even touch my home. I already have to hurricane Harvey Needs now this situation is adding to it. Just imagine cleaning 2 storages everything like thick layer of dust and debris it's going to be muddy once liquid hits it. I put on my mask and do a little at a time with cleaning up what they messed up. You pay to store items in a clean facility. My unit's were burglarized in the past. All those 5 star 1 review cookie cutter compliments are fake reviews. Put all my items in a clean secure actual climate controlled facility at proguard self storage and they open 7am to 9pm.

Move out of storage. Ive been with them for over 3 years. My storage was on the second floor. The size of the rats is unbelievable. I went to my storage one day and was met by a wood rat.. I ran so fast almost broke my arm when I hit the back door. I refuse to keep my things there. Upon moving my belongings everything smelled like rat urine. My bags was all ripped my mattress got a huge stain on it, droppings all over everywhere. Also they got hugh rodent boxes everywhere on the property that is visible. The most they can do is send out notices to customers to make them aware. Its all about money I see and if they cared it wouldn't take all of these emails and complaints. I was told they got a different exterminator but reading reviews that was a lie. I bet if they was in our shoes they would feel the same way. Im very upset because the storage was convenient but its way too many rodents and Im not talking about mice. The one met me was the size of a cat and luckily it didnt chase me. This is very disgusting and they need to close the whole building down but money is the rule of all evil. I guess they say its not there belongings. Its sad and nasty

I got a move in special rate I was told that after 6 months they would raise my rental fee well guess what? My stuff has not even been in unit for 3 months and they already raised my rate!!! I give a one star for management for lying to me, dont be fooled by them, I was!! DO NOT RENT HERE! THEY HAVE A RAT PROBLEM!!

Hidden fees & rules. Example: You have to purchase their lock & insurance. The monthly rates go up each year. You have to be out of the gated area before 6pm otherwise the local police are called to escort you out and charge you with Criminal Trespass. (This is right from the manager) Huge rat infestation at this location. I found two dead rats in my unit. Management said that this is due to other tenants storing food in their units. I've had an overhead light that been out for over three years. This has been reported to each manager that has transitioned through the site but remains. The value is not worth the money or aggravation.

I made a reservation on line Tuesday and I was called back Wednesday morning so I could come in to finish the paperwork but I was not available until Saturday morning. Saturday was running late for me ,but not Lakeisha and Brittany they were waiting to assist me and they did with some of the best CUSTOMER SERVICES SKILLS in a minute. Appreciated!!!!

Terrible, low class location. Employees are lazy, it closes at 5pm, bad customer service, infestation of mice and insects. It’s disgusting. I don’t know why large big named companies hire such bad employees it makes their brand look bad. I’m a real person not a fake account like these other reviews.

This is my third time renting a space at this location. I have never had any problems. It was all quick and painless since I've gone through the process before. More recently, I was early for my appointment and Ashley was able to assist me. She was polite and professional. Their system was down but she did her best to get my transcation through with the help of Akira. Ashley not only completed the deal but also got me a good promotion on my unit. *The employees seem honest about the condition of their units/ building. UPDATE JULY 2018: REASON FOR LOWER RATING Long story short...I found out that they have a rat issue. I was informed that they are doing something about it. I have not been back to the my storage since the beginning of July. I will post again after I see my storage on move out.

It is a ripoff on the money. Now you are given just 9AM-5PM to access the unit you pay in advance. Service? Just to charge $22 for a lock you buy for $8 at Walmart, the $11 mandatory insurance, the lock, the coded gate AND elevator possibly are no insurance, right. Climate control is expected to be 71F, and I notice it higher on two occasions in just one month here. You have to leave an ID with them to borrow a dolly!!! You have get out of their office and bumping the dolly around from the outside, there are no direct hallways to your unit, rain or sunshine, where's the helpful service? They would rather charge you for facilitating anything. And three days in a row no elevator to their 3rd floor, you're expected to take your work time hours for this joke of storage, shut and be thankful you have their business! Moving out. That's my thank you for the lesson.

they do not honor their own company policy or website specials. I was quoted a price online then was called by the unit being told that the reservation i had was not available and that i was going to have to pay three times what i was quoted. This is not customer service.

A/C & elevators always broken ...

So far not so great as the rest of the reviews.. Since the Harvey disaster our account has been charged and charged several additional fees. Very alarming when this location is in the city of Houston and very well knows the destruction hurricane Harvey has left our entire city with. Just not so good as a major company. But we are patiently waiting for a response to make sure these are legit charges. Will keep you posted.
